How My Blog Started
I woke up one chilly February morning and decided to take my best friend's suggestion of starting a blog. I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into. Had someone told me how much work blogging was going to be, I probably would have backed out of the whole thing with my tail between my legs! Thank goodness I was oblivious- lol! I did a teeny tiny bit of research prior to choosing my blogging platform (I wish I had researched more, but that's another story), and I started designing my page and tossing around name ideas. Since 8 months ago, I've come a very long way, learned so many valuable blogging lessons, and I've made some amazing blogger friends! I really love blogging, and I'm ever-so-grateful for my friend's tiny nudge to dive head first into the blogosphere!
Give a Piece of Advice (or two) To New Bloggers
Here are my top four pieces of advice (I couldn't decide one just one or two!):
1) Choose your blogging platform wisely. I regret my platform choice almost daily, and I've often considered spending a substantial amount of money to make a switch. If you're serious about blogging, research carefully to determine what platform you think will be best for you.
2) Take the time to make a few helpful blogging friends right from the get-go. Don't be afraid to tag a blogger in a "hello" message on social media or to leave a friendly comment on someone's post to introduce yourself.
3) Be yourself and write from the heart. Your readers will know if your posts are not genuine, and they'll leave your page as quickly as they came.
4) Have fun! There's a lot that goes into running a successful blog, and it can be quite daunting sometimes if you let it. Take your time, enjoy the process, and keep in mind the popular saying, "Rome wasn't built in a day!"
