Afternoon came, and my daughter asked me if she could do something fun. When she asks for "something fun," she's usually referring to a making a craft, playing with play-doh, or painting at the kitchen table. So, I decided to take out some plain white paper and acrylic paint and let her free paint for awhile.
Here are our masterpieces from this afternoon. They're pretty much just awkwardly-shaped paint globs with crumbs stuck inside. Yet, these little pieces of artwork served as a wonderful lesson on texture and printmaking! This activity kept my daughter entertained for almost 45 minutes. So, if you've got some stale bread and a bored toddler or preschooler, grab some paints, a paintbrush, and some paper and have fun!
